PwC Academy workshop helps decision makers to create high performance teams and organisations
Senior management professionals from banking, finance, IT, apparels and food & beverage industries commended PwC Academy for organizing a two-day workshop on ‘High Performance Leadership’ in mid-July which helped them strengthen their leadership capabilities and accelerate their performance.
The program held at the Hilton Colombo from 11th to 12th July, incorporated a unique learning methodology to help the senior management of Commercial Bank, National Development Bank, Union Bank, Alliance Finance, Hela Clothing Aeturnum, Visolit, Convenience Foods and GIZ -SME Sector Development develop a new set of skills and deliver results despite the increasing challenges and complexities facing the corporate world.
The program was conducted by Andrew Horsfield, a much sought after speaker and trainer in Australia with a strong reputation to help advance people and accelerate their profession. For over two decades, Horsfield has helped clients deliver transformational change in finance, education, technology, retail, and elite level sport throughout Australia, Asia, the South West Pacific and the UK. Mr. Horsfield’s clientele includes Apple, BP, Mercedes Benz and the Australian Cricket Team.
Due to his experience as a professional cricketer, Horsfield also utilized his experience in the cricket field to help the participants understand how they can strengthen their leadership and performance capabilities allowing them to play a more successful role within the organization they serve for.
Kasun De Silva, Zonal Head of Union Bank of Colombo applauded PwC Academy for organizing such an important program which he said was one of the most unique programs he had ever attended. “The workshop was very informative and comprehensive with solid examples from cricketers and how they achieved high performance. We also had lots of practical situations which helped us find solutions to our day to day problems,” he said.
According to Thilanka De Zoysa, Managing Director of Convenience Foods (Lanka) PLC the standard of the program was very good as it was a thought-provoking exercise. “Andrew did a fantastic job with practical examples from a sport background. The program helped me explore myself as a high-performance leader,” he added.
Ranmalee Gamage, Technical Advisor-Team Leader East of GIZ-SME Sector Development said the delivery of the program was excellent, as the content was very precise. “It helped me to think and act on high performance team culture in a manageable way.”
Meanwhile, following the overwhelming response the two day program received due to the unique program delivery by the trainer, PwC Academy has decided to repeat the ‘High Performance Leadership’ workshop again on 14 and 15 October 2019 for the benefit of professionals including management and senior management who missed the July program.
The workshop helped participants discover the two forces behind high performance and how they can use them to drive people and progress, as well as learn specific strategies to encourage and empower the discretionary effort that drives real world results all while building a suite of high performance habits that provide the agility to deliver results in a demanding context. During the program, participants were also able to develop skills to find clarity amidst chaos and complexity and learn a host of important practical tools which can be applied to advance people and enhance performance.
A unique feature of the workshop is that it includes a comprehensive 90-day post program support to ensure the skills of participants are put to work. The program has been organized to specially benefit business unit heads, senior managers, managers, newly appointed leaders, future leaders, business professionals and entrepreneurs.
